Or, in praise of Lamy and Sailor.
I find that each pen has different behaviour when they are running out of ink. The behaviour can be roughly classified into two groups:
- It just runs out. Nice line, then, poof, it’s gone. That’s how I find most Lamy (range of swappable nibs) and Sailor (the gold nib lines) behave with mose ink.
- They start writing intermittently. This is how I find most other pens behave.
I believe the difference is in the feed design. Which I don’t think most review talk about, as they require using the pen until they run out of ink.
Another advantage I find of this is that they flush out ink easily. And they also dry easily, as the feed can pretty much pull out all water that is left in the feed after washing. WHen I submerged these pen nib unit overnight, no more ink come out, unlike most other pens.
