Due to a random barrage of YouTube Shorts on this movie, I watched it today during dinner. I know, it’s not really a dinner movie.
Taking Chance is an HBO original movie released in 2009. It told a real story of Col. Michael Strobl acting as an escort taking the remains of PFC Chance Phelps back to his family during the 2nd Gulf War.
That’s it. That’s the entire story. It illustrated the interaction with other American people they met along the way, and finally about the conflict within the Col. Strobl, whose Marine training to fight at the front-line is conflicting with his desire to stay with his family.
Over all, it’s a nice, heartfelt story that should make most people cry.
